Passing of Elder Ephraim
of Philotheou and Arizona 12/7/2019

It is with great sadness and heavy heart to tell those who do not know of the passing of Elder Ephraim.  I will always be deeply indebted to his Holiness, faith and love.  I have never in my whole life found a monk with such holiness, faith, and live the life with such sacrifice of his life for Christ.  I brought my reader from our Skete here at Arizona who had Aides and got release from Hospital in the year on or about 1995-1997 and he only had a few weeks to live and being desperate in helping him i brought him to St. Anthony's Monastery hoping i could get him in to see Elder Ephraim and everyone said good luck with that.  Well we arrived there and told of the seriousness of his health and life, the reader had a thermometer and took his tempature constantly all the way there with a high fever which the doctor at hospital said would destroy his immune system which was at 20 T-cell.  Well we got in to see the Elder after 3 hours of waiting but boy was it worth the wait.  Elder Ephraim asked me to help with the service of the Holy Unction which i did and then got a blessing from him and we left and by the time we got off the land he started sweating infusely and he thought he was leaving his body by dying but it was that his fever busted and return to normal and he is still alive and it been over 20 years.  All Glory to God and i thank God for this healing which he allowed through Elder Ephraim and we will be visiting his grave site to thank him and will ever be grateful and indebted to God and Elder Ephraim for this miracle and healing.  Thank you Elder Ephraim and may your memory be eternal as you enter into Paradise. +Archbishop Gregory, Father Seraphim, Father Boulos, Father John and all of our clergy and parishes.
